MY TESTIMONY

I would first like to say that I am thankful to be a child of God. Without him I would have no testimony to give. His grace is sufficient, and his mercy is ever lasting. As a young boy I grew up in a good home with a brother, two sisters, and two wonderful parents. My mother took us to church, taught us to pray and trust in God. As I grew into my teenage years I just stopped going to church altogether. I had never really given my heart to God at all. At the age of 21 I met a young Christian girl named Patricia who later became my wife. It was through the Christian example that her and her family lived that made me realize there was something missing in my life. One day her youngest brother who was only 8 years old at the time came to me and asked me if I was a Christian.

It was at that very moment God spoke to my heart and let me know that I was not a Christian. I looked at that young boy and had to tell him no I am not a Christian. From that time on God begin to bring me under conviction. I was a miserable creature until one day when I knelt down beside my bed and began to cry out to God for his Saving Grace. It was right then and there that God saved me and filled me with the HOLY GHOST. Being a young Christian I decided to join a denominational church and was baptized in the trinity manner. As I started to pray and study the bible the best way that I knew how, I began to see things in the bible that I wasn’t being taught in the church where I was going. I started asking my pastor questions as well as other members of the church. Little did I realize that my questions only made some of them mad, and others afraid. I was only asking what certain scriptures meant, but they told me to leave those things alone because it would only cause trouble. I thought, why would the word of God bring fear, and cause trouble.

As time went on we began to see that they were teaching things that were contrary to God’s word. We began to pray that God would make a way for us to go to Faith Assembly on a regular basis. I called Bro. Jackson and asked him to help us pray that God would make a way for us to come. Within 2 weeks God provided the means for us to make the trip every week. We traveled 123 miles each way for 8 years. Brother and Sister, there is no distance too far to travel when you are hungry for truth. If you have a true desire to serve God he will make the way. Finally in December of 1986 the Lord made a way for us to move to this area. A precious brother in the church offered me a job in his business. We gave up our jobs, packed what we had and moved to this location. We have never looked back. Don’t get me wrong, we were tested many times but we knew God had led us this way. I have sat under the ministry of Bro. Jackson, and Bro. Allen for many years now and I have to say these brothers have stood for truth and defended God’s word with their lives. God has used these two brothers to teach me many precious truths from His word. My wife and I will be married 24 years in March 1998, and have one son, Jason 18 years old who gave his life to the Lord when he was 13 years old. He is serving God in a faithful way. Truly he has been a blessing to our home. Brother and Sister, I don’t mean to brag, but it is a joy to see our young children serving God.

My wife and I have been privileged to travel to Norway, Canada, and many places here in the States to minister the word of God. It is the faithful support of Brother and Sister Jackson along with Faith Assembly Church that has allowed us to travel for the Lord. Time would fail me to tell all that God has done for me and my family. Please pray for my family and I that we will always seek to do God’s perfect will.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!
